Movie star Kate Hudson is the daughter of screen legend Goldie Hawn and musician Bill Hudson-though you might never know it, as Kate Hudson has jump started her own career in a relatively short period of time. Kate Hudson's first Hollywood role was in two TV series, "EZ Streets" and "Party of Five." Her first big screen debut came in 1998 in Morgan J. Freeman's (no, not the guy you're thinking about) comedy-drama "Desert Blue."

Though Kate Hudson continued to struggle with her next few films it was Cameron Crowe's "Almost Famous" that finally brought her to attention. Kate Hudson played Penny Lane in the movie. Interestingly, in her scene with actor Patrick Fugit, Kate's character was asking William's if he would like to accompany her to Morocco. When William says, "Yes... ask me again," that was actually an unscripted request for a retake. However, director Crowe liked the take so much he left it in the final cut.

Kate Hudson has also starred in "How To Lose a Guy in 30 Days", "Alex and Emma", "You, Me and Depree." To this day Kate Hudson has yet to apologize for any of them. What is Kate Hudson up to lately? Kate Hudson took a year off but she will be appearing in 2008's Fool's Gold and in three movies in 2009, including "Bachelor No.2", "Bride Wars" and "A Dream of Red Mansions."

Kate Hudson's career peak was her role in "Almost Famous" -not only did she score an Oscar nomination, she was also nominated for 18 other award ceremonies for the same role, 12 of which she took home. Kate Hudson may have another hit left in her before the end of the decade, but regardless, she is a bit more than almost famous so many years after Crowe's Hollywood nostalgia story.
